Expert: China has passed U.S. in manufacturing; set to become military superpower

A specialist on China said last week that China has overtaken the United States in manufacturing output, despite World Bank figures revising downward the size of China's economy. "As an industrial giant, China needs to be taken seriously as an international economic force and a strategic and military power," said John J. Tkacik, Jr.. Beijing has been the world's leading producer of steel, copper, aluminum, cement and coal for several years.        (FULL STORY)
