Pentagon report for first time raises concerns over China's control of its nukes
The Pentagon’s annual report on China’s military power for the first time expressed concern over Beijing’s control over nuclear forces.
Declassified intelligence in the report showed that China's communications with its mobile nuclear forces, mainly missiles and submarines, is not reliable. The Pentagon's report said China's military "has only a limited capacity to communicate with submarines at sea, and the PLA navy has no experience in managing [a nuclear missile submarine] fleet."
