U.S. deployed carrier groups, Chinese conducted 'bellicose' exercises before Taiwan vote

China’s military raised concerns among Pentagon leaders by stepping up military activities prior to Taiwan’s presidential elections in March, a senior U.S. general said last week. Prior to the election, “there was an increase in sort of what I would call more bellicose exercising on the part of the Chinese along the coast opposite Taiwan,” said Air Force Maj. Gen.
