Pentagon provides details; China to block sanctions; Japan weighs options

China is expected to block additional United Nations sanctions on North Korea for its missile test on April 5, raising new questions about Beijing’s role in international talks, officials said. China's UN Ambassador Zhang Yesui signaled Beijing's views on April 6 when he told reporters: “Regarding the reaction of the Security Council, our position is that it has to be cautious and proportionate.”   (FULL STORY)

Beijing guns for 'kingmaker role' in impending North Korean succession

Beijing hopes to play a kingmaker role in the forthcoming succession drama. "Dear Leader" Kim, who reportedly suffered a stroke last year, is anxious to secure Chinese backing for his third son, Kim Jong-Un.
