Gates describes relevance of F-22 in future conflict with China

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates for the first time last week publicly mentioned the possibility that the Air Force’s most advanced front-line fighter bomber, the F-22, would be used in a future conflict against China. The reference to the F-22 is likely to anger China, which insists that it harbors no aggressive military intentions. (FULL STORY)

Corruption allegations linked to Hu Jintao’s son seen as a blow to president's status

Reports of the arrest in Namibia of three people in connection with alleged corruption by a company controlled by President Hu Jintao’s son could hurt the latter’s prestige at a delicate juncture in Chinese politics.
