China’s aircraft carrier-killer ballistic missile reported ready for testing

China’s efforts to develop a conventionally armed long-range ballistic missile to kill U.S. aircraft carriers is well advanced and a flight test of the new system is expected in the near future. A report by former Pentagon China specialist Mark A. Stokes states that the DF-21 medium-range missile being developed for anti-aircraft carrier attacks is part of a strategic effort to allow carrier battle groups to remain more than 2,000 miles from China, so that Beijing can conduct operations against Taiwan without intervention by the U.S. (FULL STORY)
