China threatens incident if U.S. deploys new P-8 surveillance aircraft

China’s state-run media stepped up criticism of U.S. military surveillance of China by criticizing deployment of a new maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft, the P-8. China Radio International reported September 9 that the main aircraft for constant U.S. spying on China was the EP-3, and a new plane, the EP-8, would soon go into service to replace the propeller-driven EP-3.
