Japanese delegation urged U.S. to maintain credibility of its nuclear umbrella

Tokyo actively lobbied a congressional task force on nuclear deterrence to maintain the credibility of the U.S. nuclear umbrella for Japan to deter attacks from China and North Korea. Government sources said the lobbying took place before the Democratic Party of Japan took power. (FULL STORY)

Hu Jintao names Hu Chunhua as 'Sixth-Generation' successor of his successor

Rumors about a rift between the “cores” of China’s Fourth- and Fifth-Generation leaderships — President Hu Jintao and Vice President Xi Jinping, respectively — are circulating in the Chinese capital.
