Chinese government suspected in Google attacks

Computer security experts said that Chinese hackers exploited a security flaw in Microsoft’s popular Internet Explorer to launch the sophisticated attack on Google and as many as 34 other high-tech companies. Google said in a statement that the targets of the attack included several Gmail accounts of Chinese dissidents. One security company, iDefense, said intelligence and defense contractors determined that the attacks originated from "a single foreign entity consisting either of agents of the Chinese state or proxies thereof."
